Just thought to ask tonight how...
my parents met...I knew my whole life about their first date but never thought to ask how they met because they did not go to High School together. On there first date my Mom fell under the car, slipped on an ice patch and fell under the car, like a mechanic on wheels my dad says. I have so laughed about that all my life.Their Schools played each other in sports and they both went to tiny tiny tiny High Schools. My Dad,stop smoking, I looked in his yearbook tonight had 12 people in his graduating class. I had like 300 I think. Strange. My Dad would call my Mom and her Cousin and my Mom's cousin was moving so she threw a farewell party and my Mom invited him(we have a huge family), and from there it went. It was 1954. She was amazed he came, he had hitched a ride and he did not know anyone at the party and she was not sure if he came to see her or her cousin and he said right off that he had come to see her because she invited him. They were 14 and 16 years old. LOL...so my dad.And I want to thank him for quitting 23 years ago. I am so glad he did and is around to hang with my kids and me still. My Mom...she is kinda a closet smoker, I never know is she is smoking or not since I quit, she would sneak with me sometimes (gross),stop smoking now, when I smoked but not now. I hope not. I asked her and she said on occasion but I am not sure that is true unless an occasion is Tuesday. Lots of air freshener in her car too.... My point about smoking here is: It does matter to other people that you are around, I am glad I heard that story over a pleasant dinner and not with him on an artificial lung system. It is an important journey.Night all! Thanks for being around!Steph
