What happens when I stop the patch-

I have been in a program that uses the patch. 14 mg for the 1st 2 weeks then it is reduced to 7 mg. I started on the 7 mg this past Monday. Am I going to go through withdrawal symptoms when I stop wearing the patch? Has anyone had experience with this? If the nicotine is out of your system in the first 72 hours and after that it is all psychological,stop smoking now, then what is the point of the patch? My counselor is not very helpful. I asked her this question and she just responded that she had never smoked so she did not know. It just doesn't make send to me.Then again,Herbal cigarettes, I'm pretty obtuse right now.
